Shutterbug: Fun with Double Yolks

No boring egg sandwiches around here. This is our newest quick farm lunch favorite. We have named it "The Sleestak" for obvious reasons, instead of the eggs sizzling, they just hiss! Land of the Lost was one of my top 5 childhood television shows (right up there with H.R. Puff'N'Stuff , Lidsville and the Banana Splits) hhhmmmm banana splits....we need to plant some banana trees!
Sleestak Sandwich: Good crusty bread like Ciabatta, slightly toasted with a little butter and melted shredded sharp cheddar topped with heirloom tomatoes, avocado & fried Pancetta & egg. HHmmmmmmmm! Hisssssssssssssssssss!

  1. Perfect name- will have to try it! My brother and I were fans - sometimes call each other up and make the hissing/static noise and hang up! Ai ai ai- que chic e grown up of us, no? Peels if gargalhadas are worth it!!

  2. HHahhaaa, I like the prank hissing call. Once when I was still working in corporate America, we had a pop quiz on a retirement plan given by a products trainer. He had an awesome sense of humor and at the end of the quiz he had an extra credit question. "What sound does a Sleestak make?"
He and I were about the same age so of course, I got it right!

  4. That looks amazing. And the eggs are perfect shaped eyes for the Sleestak. Are those farm fresh eggs? The yolk looks so dark and rich!

  5. Yes, these eggs are all from our VERY free range hens. We get five different colors of eggs (white, brown, pink, turquoise and dark brown) plus two different colors of Guinea eggs. These eggs have half the cholesterol and twice the beta carotene.
We hope to sell our eggs this summer to our heirloom vegetable customers.
I love my hens, they are such good little layers!
